What Is Silicon Carbide Briquette?

Silicon carbide briquette is a pressed block of SiC fines with a binder, supplied at 65-75% SiC. The briquette form avoids the dust and handling losses of loose powder and dissolves steadily in the furnace.

Bright Alloys presses SiC briquettes at 30x30x50 mm with free carbon, Fe2O3 and Al2O3 held low, so that the balance of carbon and silicon in the heat stays predictable.
