Silicon Carbide Briquette Products for Steelmaking & Foundry

Silicon carbide briquettes are used as a carburizer and deoxidizer in steelmaking and foundry applications. They simultaneously add silicon and carbon to molten metal, improving steel cleanliness and recovery. They are also cost-effective alternatives to ferro silicon in many processes.

We supply three main grades: SiC briquette 75 (75-77% SiC), SiC briquette 70 (68-72% SiC), and SiC briquette 65 (63-67% SiC). All are available in standard 30x50mm briquette form and can be customized for phosphorus and sulfur limits. Inquire for custom specs.

SiC briquettes can replace part or all of ferro silicon additions, providing both silicon and carbon simultaneously, which often leads to lower overall melt cost. The carbon from SiC also improves slag foaming and electrode consumption in electric arc furnaces.
